Hawaiian Kine Day...

This past weekend I attended the 12th Annual Ho'olaule'a, which is a Hawaiian festival put together by a committe originated by a few of the very first Hawaiian Women to settle here in the Bay Area of Califonia. My daughter was asked to dance a quick routine along with her cousins, so we spent the early part of our day soaking in some sunshine, watching the Hawaiian entertainment, eating yummy food and of course shopping. During my time at the fest I teamed up with my Aunty and together we did some major damage and shopped :)

Check out some of my new things.
I LOVE them all and Im so happy the are part of my obsessive collection of "All things I HEART"

My Honu (Turtle) Bracelets
I saw them and had to have them.

SUPER Cute Island Inspired Hoops.
I went crazy at this booth, If I could buy every single pair she had available, I would have.
Luckily I was able to narrow it down to these fabulous four :)

Flowers for my hair are always mandatory.
I picked up these Tahitian Tiare flowers as well, I especially love the tribal print ones and I love the accented tahitian black pearls on the remaining two.

My Daughter and her Cousins performing "Kaleponi Hula"
They did an awesome job and make a great team.

Last but not least lets not forget the yummy food.
Chicken Long Rice; Kalua Pork; Lomi Salmon and Rice.

What an awesome day spent with my Family. I always anticipate and look forward to attending Hawaiian and Islander events here in California. The atmosphere and ambiance of the event is surrounded by so much Aloha. Everyone is somehow your Aunty or Uncle, We are all in a sense Family. Its always great to meet new people and gather to celebrate the love of our culture. Not to mention we do have the BEST food and the BEST Crafts. Festivals of any sort are always a happy pastime for me, but the ones that are part of my culture and upbringing will always be at the top of my list. Its great to be so diverse and love all that my cultures have to offer.

What are some of your favorite past times?
What festivals do you recomend?

Thank you all for reading...
Until next post...I Heart you all!

  1. Love this post... I can't wait to be back in the states again - it's been too long since I've been to a ho'olaule'a and I really miss the shopping & food. :)
