Just A Note...

I cant tell you how much I truly miss blogging. October 2012 was my last post and as I logged in today I got really sad thinkin about how long it has been since I last wrote. Just wanted to stop in and leave you all with a little note. As busy as life can get for me, I miss blogging. I don't see myself making any new videos, But I am on Instagram under @Wifezilla_Hekela and I am always posting looks and hauls there. For those of you interested, Follow me and leave a comment with your IG name so we can be in touch. I'm always posting recipes & meal ideas, coupon hauls, and makeup looks. Life as usual is crazy. Still on the hustle from 9 to 5 in conjunction with  pulling my SUPER Wife/Mom stunts. As crazy as it all gets I enjoy it and it keeps me well rounded and grounded to all the aspects that mean the most to me. Lots of things have happened since Oct of 2012.

I am still focusing mentally and physically on my diet and fitness. I have lost 15 pounds since February. My weight had fluctuated back uphill during that time and I had weighed in at 167 lbs. My heaviest. I proudly weigh in at 152 now and broke through my plateau of 155. My fitness regime consist of Insanity at home with my husband and children as well as Tahitian. I've also really cut down on red meat and have been consuming more chicken, fish and shakes these days. Healthy eating and fitness have really helped me shed through those unwanted pounds. With Summer just around the corner, I am looking forward to being more confident in my wardrobe.

Two weeks ago I finally got my BRACE FACE :)
At twenty nine years old I never thought I would be rockin braces, but better late then never.
Its been really hard to adjust to, but lots of dental work and prepping went underway in order to finally make this happen. Now that it is all done, I am so excited to finally see the results. My teeth have always been an insecurity for me (believe it or not) and now that they will be fixed, I am going to feel like a completely new person. I'm so excited and antsy.

I recently took up a new hobby, Couponing.
Urghhh as if I didn't already have an obsession with Makeup, I learn the art of couponing and I'm completely hooked. Its such a rush to get an amazing deal on makeup, imagine getting a great deal on things that we actually NEED! lol. Being a Mom, I'm always on the look out to save money, and with couponing I have learned great ways to maximize savings and get the biggest bang for my buck. I'm still much of a rookie in the couponing game, but so far the deals I have come across have made me realize how much I would never have to pay full price for certain items ever again. When you have a family of five like I do, it really doesn't hurt to put in the extra time to reap the benefits of couponing.

I'm really looking forward to posting more here from now on.
Couponing hauls, Makeup looks/hauls and more Recipes will soon be posted here.
I also want to hear how you all are doing since its been so long.
Please leave me a comment below to say "Hellllllllo"
Thank you all for being such loyal readers...Looking forward to sharing more with you in 2013 :)

Hawaiian Kine Day...

This past weekend I attended the 12th Annual Ho'olaule'a, which is a Hawaiian festival put together by a committe originated by a few of the very first Hawaiian Women to settle here in the Bay Area of Califonia. My daughter was asked to dance a quick routine along with her cousins, so we spent the early part of our day soaking in some sunshine, watching the Hawaiian entertainment, eating yummy food and of course shopping. During my time at the fest I teamed up with my Aunty and together we did some major damage and shopped :)

Check out some of my new things.
I LOVE them all and Im so happy the are part of my obsessive collection of "All things I HEART"

My Honu (Turtle) Bracelets
I saw them and had to have them.

SUPER Cute Island Inspired Hoops.
I went crazy at this booth, If I could buy every single pair she had available, I would have.
Luckily I was able to narrow it down to these fabulous four :)

Flowers for my hair are always mandatory.
I picked up these Tahitian Tiare flowers as well, I especially love the tribal print ones and I love the accented tahitian black pearls on the remaining two.

My Daughter and her Cousins performing "Kaleponi Hula"
They did an awesome job and make a great team.

Last but not least lets not forget the yummy food.
Chicken Long Rice; Kalua Pork; Lomi Salmon and Rice.

What an awesome day spent with my Family. I always anticipate and look forward to attending Hawaiian and Islander events here in California. The atmosphere and ambiance of the event is surrounded by so much Aloha. Everyone is somehow your Aunty or Uncle, We are all in a sense Family. Its always great to meet new people and gather to celebrate the love of our culture. Not to mention we do have the BEST food and the BEST Crafts. Festivals of any sort are always a happy pastime for me, but the ones that are part of my culture and upbringing will always be at the top of my list. Its great to be so diverse and love all that my cultures have to offer.

What are some of your favorite past times?
What festivals do you recomend?

Thank you all for reading...
Until next post...I Heart you all!

My Hula Girl...

This past weekend my Daughter had her very first dress rehearsal for Hula. Her Hula Halau will be performing at the Hawaiian May Day Festival this coming Saturday. I feel so overwhelmed with pride and love for her. At six years old, she has really applied herself and is doing so great as a little dancer.  I envy her tiny soul, because I was never a dancer growing up as a child. My parents always had us in Martial Arts, so I spent a good chunk of my life sparring and going to tournaments. This is definitely a whole new experience and element for me, and I'm so thrilled to share this with her.

She has inspired me so much that I have decided to take the challenge and begin Tahitian classes.
Last night I went to my very first class and it was so much fun. I never knew I had it in me, but then again I come from a long line of talented dancers, my mom being one of them. I feel this is the start of a whole new journey, allowing myself to venture out and learn new things, as well as the start to new bonds formed with my daughter. My youngest daughter is still too young, but once she is of age, she will begin Hula as well. Its an awesome feeling to be bonded with your child, she really inspires me. What makes the experience even more special is that my sister & mother also take it with me, as well as a few of my nieces and cousin. It has become a family affair, which makes it all the more special. I'm so excited  for all the memories and things to come...

Check out some of their pictures from their rehearsal...

Striving for My Goals...

Its Monday, and I feel great!
After two weeks of  healthy eating and  five days on the RESET program, I managed to loose a total of eight pounds. Its been an emotional struggle, but I know now that its all mind over matter from this day forward. In these past few weeks I found that a Healthier Me does indeed exists. Its taken courage, will and strength to bring that person out, and now that I have became wiser in health decisions, I feel unstoppable. Reflecting back on these last weeks proves that anything is possible as long as you have heart and passion to reach your goals pushing forward, never to look back. I never want to turn back into the world of overeating and stuffing my face with waste.
I Heart Food, but I heart my body and myself MORE.
"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try"
Taking the first step to a healthier me was my choice & I am so grateful that I took that step rather than putting it off. Now three weeks into a healthy regimen I am so happy I have come this far. I feel more energized, and comfortable in my clothes. My muffin top is diminishing and I don't feel bloated and overly stuffed after meals. Its an overall rewarding feeling, and although I'm excited to see those numbers on the scale decrease, I feel even more ecstatic feeling amazing both inside and out.
That to me is the most rewarding feeling...

Here I am at 2 Weeks into my regimen...
4lbs down...

                                                              164lbs                                  160lbs

156lbs
3 Weeks in...8 lbs Down.
Start Weight: 164
Current Weight: 156

RESET & whats next?
Last Friday, I finished my 5 day RESET Program. Five days of Shakes, VitaPacks, Fruit, Veggies and Nutrition Bars...I'm still  in a state of shock at how I was able to tackle and conquer this task. I didn't think I had it in me. At the beginning of the week I weighed in at 164lbs, by Saturday morning I found myself at 156lbs. I've now found new hope and will to continue on with this journey.
RESET has truly helped me shed these first few pounds & now I'm eager to continue on to the Transformation Stage. This next stage will consist of two shakes a day, and one healthy meal. I can definitely dig that after five days of nothing but shakes. I placed an order with my USANA Rep Melissa and she gladly helped me save money on my order by becoming a preferred customer. My Nutrimeal shakes are currently in route, once they arrive I will begin this next stage. I'm so excited!

Within the next few days stay tuned for my FULL Review on the RESET program.
For more product information check out my Rep's Usana Site.

Thank You to EVERYONE who has inspired me to strive for my goals, your motivational feedback and positive attitudes have really helped me push harder for what I'm aiming for.
This journey has become easier when I surround myself with positive minds, who can also relate to what I am going through. If you are one of those individuals, kudos to you for taking the initiative to lead a healthier life!

Healthy ME :)

Yo Yo Yo!!
I hope everyone is doing great, Its Monday and I wanted to kick this week off with an update on my current weight loss mission. Those of you clicked up with my FaceBook Page , Twitter and Instagram know that I have recently been striving to reach my weight loss goals. I've been going strong for two weeks now, and I couldn't be any prouder. Its been a task for me to eat healthy six times a day, and control my portions. For those of you who know me, you know I heart FOOD. It's so hard to keep it all under control, especially because I love to cook.
This time around I'm really determined to count my calories and control my portions.
Two weeks ago I topped the scale at 163lbs my highest weight in my life. I stand 5 5' and I've always weighed between 135-140lbs. Before & after having kids, my pants size remained a size 9, but somewhere between August 2011 and present time  my weight has led me here. It definitely creeps up on you! I swear I didn't see this coming, since my pants size have remained the same.
My current goal now is to get back to my normal weight. I'm currently striving to reach my weight goal, which is 140lbs. Once I get there, I'm going to strive for 130lbs.  I did not want to start off with an unrealistic goal, and then throw it out the window. These days I'm taking it pretty slow, day by day. I try not to think about it too much. The one thing that has always discouraged me in the past is my patience to see results. I am so impatient, I give up because I don't see  results as quick as I want to. Then I had this whole mentality to where "I can eat what I want, and then work it off" as you can see, that is NOT workin for me. I'm trying different approaches this time, aiming to live a more healthy lifestyle and keeping this weight off for good.
The toughest part about moving forward is the motivation to start, so instead of scheduling a time to start, one day I said "I'm gonna do this shit starting today!". On Wed, April 11'th I began counting all of my calories and logging all of my food. I have had some opportunities to "Cheat", but I can proudly say that I've only had the urge to do so once or twice. I have to pat myself on the back, because I haven't consumed any alcohol, and I LOVE BEER. I don't appreciate the effect that Beer has done for my gut over time though, so I have cut back. I have also kept it strictly WATER, no coffee, sodas or juice.
Here are a few other things I have done in order to help encourage myself....

Pre-Pack Your Lunch :)
I've made it a point to pre-pack a healthy lunch every day.
My lunches usually include a Veggie and a Fruit, healthy snacks like Rice Cakes & Lots of H2O.
Mainly Low Calorie and Healthy stuff. Its saved me a crap load of money and has taught me to eat small portions and healthy stuff through out the day, instead of going to McDonald's or the vending machine to grab a candy bar.

Keep a Journal :)
In order to keep me motivated and encouraged I write in my Journal.
I like to jot down my thoughts and ambitions, where I want to be and the things I do in order to reach my goals. As a Mom, things are so hectic, I find it so therapeutic to write not only about my weight loss goals, but just about life in general. Writing is very essential to my soul, its something I do, even ten years outta high school lol.
Inside these pages, I also like to post motivational quotes, for those days that I feel like I want to give up. In the end, it my choice, do I want to succeed or do I want to fail?

Download a Fitness App
In order to help aid me with my weight loss, I also count my calories through this app on my phone.
MyFitnessPal is a great app to have on hand, it allows you to log every meal that you consume, and also has a wide variety of Calorie information on any type of food. It also lets you input the excercise that you have completed during your day, so that you can track your weight loss progress over a period of time.

Surround Yourself with Positive & Encouraging Individuals
Its always great to surround myself with other Women who are taking the plunge into a healthy and fit lifestyle. Who wants to be surrounded by negative downers at a time when your goin for the gold? I find encouragement and motivation seeing others strive for the same things that I too strive for. Each of our situations are special and unique..In any aspect we are all Women aiming for a Healthy and Happy lifestyle.

Here are a few of my favorite fitness blogs and inspirational weight loss buddies :)

Create a Pinboard on Pinterest
Pinterest is a great place to find daily motivation. Its filled with so many success stories, before and afters, even healthy food and recipes. I have found so much motivation just browsing through all the great exercise tips and fitness ideas that float around there. It has deff inspired me to keep going and to never give up.

I came across this amazing Pin on Pinterest. This is the most inpiring story I've ever seen!

Good Fitness Reads :)
Im not one for the hottest gossip in hollywood, or keepin up with the Kardashians.
I do however LOVE to read about stuff that will actually benefit me and my well being. I've always been an avid magazine reader. As a teenager I would rush to the grocery store to pick up YM and Seventeen. These days I read dorky magazines like TIME, Family Circle, Women's Health, Cosmo and Fitness. Next time you're in the grocery store or pharmacy, grab some good reads! They are filled with so much info and tips to stay fit.

Vitamins, Take Them!
I always make it a point to take my vitamins, mainly for the fact that I have such a busy life with work, family and life in general. I need my immunity as well as my energy. Last week I stopped in to my local GNC and picked up these Vita Packs, they are filled with Multi Vitamins to help aid me with my weightloss as well as my energy.

FIND TIME!

I'm always so busy and have really put all of my exercising and gym trips on the back burner. Its no wonder that I am where I am at this very moment. I know what I've always known and that is to "Always MAKE time". If I don't make time to work out, its never going to happen, so as each day passes I find the time to squeeze in whatever I can. On my lunch hours I've been walking a Mile everyday, it doesn't seem like much, but its way better than nothing, I know if I keep it up, it will slowly show me results. I also make an effort to get some running & cardio in after my work shift. I don't get there everyday like I hoped I would, BUT the fact is that I am trying and making an effort.
The weekends arent as time constricted as my week days, so I'm always trying to squeeze in a workout. The last few weekends I have incorporated my children in my workouts. I run with my son at our local track, or around our local lake. Even at home I aim to teach my girl's some Martial Arts and some group exercises in our living room. Improvise! Gotta Improvise! aha

All of these steps in conjunction with eating right, and throwing some exercise in will do me some good, I just have to be patient and not give up. I have been on the weight loss train many times and proved successful with NO EXERCISE. I know this time around will be proven more effective because I'm pulling all of my resources together now :)
Its now or never...
Do or Die...
ahaha

What are some of the things you do to help keep you motivated?

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Part II

If you haven't added these babies to your lipstick family yet, I highly suggest that you add it to the top of your "Absolutely Must-Haves". I first discovered these amazing products back in August of 2011. I absolutely HEART these lipsticks, they are so creamy, long lasting and pigmented. Definitely my first and top choice for any drugstore lipsticks. The complete line includes forty four shades, but I managed to narrow it down to these nineteen colors.

Check out my original swatch post on the first four shades that kicked off my love affair for these lippies...

Recently Walgreen's hosted a sale on these at $6.99 a piece, Buy one get one 50% Off. These rarely go on sale, so I hopped on the chance to stock on them. Over much debate and thought, these are the ones that made the cut for my personal collection...

Impassion, Delish, Enthrall, & Captivate

Temptress, FairyTale, Flame, Hot Passion & Eternal

Divine, Smitten, Embrace, Entwined & Euphoria

I decided to save the best for last, my favorite shade of the nineteen that I own is Burn.
I was unable to photograph the actual lippie because its currently in my makeup bag that I left in my car, in which my husband is driving at the moment aha.
Its a beautiful deep red with and orangey hue to it, I'm rockin it here in the picture below...

So what do you guys think of this product and it's vibrant pigmentation?
Do any of you own any of these? If so, what color is your favorite?
Love it or Hate it?

Brush Haul

First and foremost, a big huge shout out to all of my loyal followers here at Wifezilla etc. It's been so encouraging to share the passions that drive me in this lifetime with all of you. Without your love, support & constant feedback, my blog would be nothing. As I logged in tonight I couldn't help but notice all of the new followers who have joined the site. I'm so excited and encouraged to get to know all of you and hear your thoughts & feedback.
Please drop me a comment, introduce yourself and by all means leave your blog links so that I can follow back. Thank you all from the depths of my soul, for all of the love & support you have shown me.
Lets get down to business shall we?
Its been a while since I've spoiled myself with new brushes, I have so many in my current collection that I just haven't had the need to buy any new ones. This past Friday, I did however make an exception. I came across some great buys at my local Ross & Target that I refused to pass up.
Check out my new finds...

I found both of these brushes by Essential Beauty at my local Ross.
The handles on each brush are metal, very strong & sturdy quality as well as super soft bristles.
The prices? Cant beat em!

I also came across this four piece "Colors" Edition set by Ultimate Cosmetic Brushes.
I have to admit, at first glance I was not very impressed. Something about the bright colored bristles turned me off, luckily I was able to cop a feel through an open box. First touch had me sold. The bristles were extremely soft and I love the accented labels on each handle.
I definitely mis-judged these babies, for a thrifty $9.99 they were worth a try.
The ultimate test will be to see if  both the Essential Beauty & Ultimate Cosmetics Brushes will actually grab product and do the job.
I will be testing and reviewing these soon, so please come back and stay tuned.

If you haven't noticed, I'm such a sucker for soft brushes that buff anything and everything out.
I was completely compelled to buy the next two brushes for those exact reasons. One of my Twitter/Instagram buddies @MakeupNMe recently purchased this Synthetic Buffing Brush by Sonia Kashuk. After seeing her comparison to the ULTA Sculpted Brush I was itching to get my hands on it.
This brush retailed for $12 at my local Target, I have a feeling that eventually I will be adding a second one to my collection. Its amazingly fluffy and soft, my two favorite qualities in a brush.

On my visit to Target, I also browsed the e.l.f section. The product display in my particular Target has come a long way, it was stocked with a variety of brushes from their Studio Line.
At this moment my absolute favorite  brush is the Sigma Flat Top Kabuki. I currently own three :)
I was so excited when I spotted their Studio Line Powder Brush. The bristles are a tad longer when paired with my Sigma Flat Top, none the less its just as soft. The price is an amazing $3, all the more reason to go back and pick up at least two more.

There is no doubt in my mind that these two brushes will get the job done. I can tell by the softness of the bristles that I will have no problem blending my blush, contour or foundation.
Both brushes are equally soft, the only difference is the dome shape of the Sonia Kashuk verses the Flat Top of the Powder Brush. Again, I will be reviewing these and giving my final report & feedback.

Do any of you own these brushes?
If so, what are your thoughts?
